Caution: This recipe contains a lot of cheese. Do Not give your dog to many treats at one time.

Ingredients:
3 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. uncooked quick oatmeal
¼ c. veg. oil
1 ½ c. hot water
½ c. dry milk
4 c. grated cheeses such as cheddar, Colby, Jack, Swiss, or Fontina
¼ tsp. minced garlic
1 beaten egg
1 c. rice flour
1 c. wheat germ
1 or 2 tbl. Chicken or beef broth

Directions:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  • In large bowl, pour hot water over the oatmeal, let stand for five minutes. Add the oil, stir in powdered milk, grated cheese, garlic, broth and egg. Add rice flour and wheat germ.
  • Mix well.
  • Begin adding flour slowly, ½ c. a time mixing well after each addition. When you have a doughy constituency, knead with your hands for 3-4 minutes on a floured surface. Add more flour if necessary so you have a stiff dough. Roll it out to ½” thickness. Cut into desired shapes and place on greased baking sheet (can use parchment paper for quicker cleanup). Bake one hour. Turn off oven and let sit in oven overnight do dry out.
  • Depending on size this recipe will make 30 or more dog treats. I''m sure your dog will love this cheese dog treat recipe.
